DEAD! have announced the release of their debut album, THE GOLDEN AGE OF NOT EVEN TRYING, via Infectious BMG on 26 January 2018. “There’s blood, sweat, arguments, defining moments and some of the best and worst times of our lives in this album. But every band should have that in a debut record.”

THE GOLDEN AGE OF NOT EVEN TRYING was recorded with producer Charlie Russell at Dean Street Studios in Soho, London and is the proud product of four fiercely focused people in their late teens and early 20s. With the announcement, the band have also released a music video for their next single and the title track from the album.

Regarding the video, the band had the following to say: “We all live in The Golden Age of Not Even Trying whether we like it or not. That means many different things to different people and we used that in the creation of the video. Parts of it are of us performing and parts of it are everyday life that we take for granted. We never stop to realise that all the decisions we choose to either take or neglect have an impact on the bigger picture of us as a society.”

With a fire in their belly that has seen them tour, without frills, almost non-stop over the past 18 months, move into a house in London together, release their own music, make and produce their own videos, and design and print their own merchandise, DEAD! are without doubt one of the UK’s most exciting new bands.  DEAD! play the following dates this autumn and into early next year:

“As an English band, Top of The Pops always seemed like a rite of passage; we’re not happy letting that go, so we got our label to pay for a video where we can pretend. It’s basically the next best thing …”

UP FOR RAN$OM is a ballsy, explosive take on British rock and truly encapsulates the visceral, raw sound that DEAD! are steadily becoming known for. “I was walking back from a 24-hour garage one night and got the hook in my head,” says singer Alex Mountford. “The song is not about me, it’s about a character and a story. People should derive their own meaning from what they hear. But don’t be held to ransom; make your own choices and don’t be easily swayed.”

The track, which was recently premiered by Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1, is the fourth single since the band signed a major record deal with Infectious Music. It follows last year’s YOU’RE SO CHEAP and SOMETHING MORE ORIGINAL, and ENOUGH ENOUGH ENOUGH from April of this year.

A band that do things their own way, DEAD! are happy to announce a string of dates this summer, kicking off with a special DAMNED RESTLESS FUTURE show in Glasgow. August will see the four-piece embark on an extensive tour across the UK debuting new songs, including the current single ENOUGH ENOUGH ENOUGH, as they prepare to announce their debut full length album.

The opening night in Glasgow will see the boys go back to their DIY roots of self-promoting and running everything by themselves. The band now brand these as DAMNED RESTLESS FUTURE shows, as a tribute to their loyal contingent of fans who have followed them since their infancy.

As the band say, “Everyone knows someone from an older generation who talks about seeing The Clash or a band at a squat or a house show. We put on these unorthodox gigs for our fans and ourselves so we can also get a piece of that magic. Hopefully in turn, it will be something that our fans can tell stories about to a younger generation one day. It’s all about bringing the danger and the excitement back to live rock music”.

DEAD! also play several UK festivals this summer, including Bristol Fat Lip, Kendal Calling and Bestival. Full headline dates for August as follows:

One of the hottest young bands to have emerged over the last few months are London based four-piece DEAD! Their guitar laden, anthemic new single, ENOUGH, ENOUGH, ENOUGH, is now available to stream and listen to, with a full video to follow shortly. In the meantime you check out the video here:

The band say of the video: “We wanted to go for something loud and colourful; something mental. Enough Enough Enough is a simple rock song; all we needed was a video to show you how we work live, and a chance for us to get onto your screen and up in your face. Due to events of the night before, we may have forgotten to sleep.”

Singer Alex Mountford says of the track: “It’s a really critical self-evaluation, covering the shortfalls and negative aspects of my personality. But hopefully people can find common ground with it, maybe question their shortfalls too. Sometimes there comes a point when you have to say I’ve had enough”.

DEAD! were barely out of their teens when they formed and, with a raging fire in their belly, embarked on a tour of Europe, DIY style. Upon their return they moved into a house in London together, released their own music, made their own videos and now have a fervent fan base that follow their every move. With a catalogue of festivals, sold out shows and prestigious supports under their belt, support from a plethora of BBC Radio 1 DJs and bulging socials, DEAD! are well and truly poised to make their boot mark on 2017.

The band entered the studio earlier this year, armed with a stack of raucous, punky anthems and youthful swagger, and recorded their debut album which is due for release after the summer.
