With her new album 'Pure-O' out this week via Western Vinyl, Berlin-based Norwegian artist Farao is sharing new single "Truthsayer" online now. Farao is also set to play a headline London show tomorrow, Oct 17th at the Sebright Arms. 

Speaking about the new single, Farao said "'Truthsayer' is about how getting older feels like an expanding experience instead of a linear one – growing out of your old self and becoming a better person by accepting impermanence."

After recently announcing her new album Pure-O is set for release Oct 19th via Western Vinyl, Berlin-based Norwegian artist Farao is sharing new single & video "Marry Me" from the record. 

Speaking about the track, Farao, a.k.a. Kari Jahnsen, said "'Marry Me'  is about the neurotic impulse to want to possess a person through the institution of marriage, ultimately trying to escape yourself by attaching to others.”

New single  "Lula Loves You"  - London show this October 

Berlin by-way-of Norway multi-instrumentalist and producer Farao (née Kari Jahnsen) announced her new album, Pure-O, will be released October 19th via Western Vinyl. The album’s first single “Lula Loves You” follows the May release of critically acclaimed song "The Ghost Ship" and arrives with a kaleidoscopic, analog-shot video directed/edited by Farao herself. 

About the song, Farao says, “Loosely based on the movie Wild At Heart by David Lynch, ‘Lula Loves You’ is about resilience in the face of adversity – fighting for something in less than ideal conditions."

Shares new song "The Ghost Ship" - Signs to Western Vinyl


Berlin by way of Norway multi-instrumentalist and producer Farao has signed to Western Vinyl and today shared new song "The Ghost Ship". 

"’The Ghost Ship’ is about losing a sense of direction, your fate being driven by something out of your control,” explains Kari Jahnsen, a/k/a Farao. “Seeing the end of a relationship as an empty vessel, floating endlessly and eternally into nothingness."

Farao’s 2015 debut album Till It’s All Forgotten and its songs earned her press attention and was playlisted at 6Music, among others. She has also performed at a number of UK and European festivals such as Green Man, End of the Road, Øya, Roskilde, BY:LARM, and Eurosonic.
Farao is currently at work on a new album and more details will be announced soon.
