The band has also shared the video for new single, “Sensitive Girl", taken from their forthcoming new album Outside (briefly). Shot on the road via Super 8, the video features footage from South Africa and their recent London headline show.

Bassist Jeremy says of it, "We borrowed a friends camera and bought four rolls of day light film, and then remembered that 90% of days on tour are spent in the van which can be boring for a film. So we tried to have as much fun as we could for the 20 minutes in between getting out of the van and loading in and that's where most of the footage comes from."

Singer/guitarist Joojoo adds, “I like the video a lot because we don’t really make music that you would think ‘oh these guys are silly and have a sense of humor’ but we’re pretty average silly guys and you can kind of see that in the video. Especially with Cameron.”

FROTH share "Passing Thing", taken from new album, OUTSIDE (briefly).

Set for release on February 10th 2017 on Wichita Recordings

Los Angeles, CA’s Froth have shared “Passing Thing", taken from their forthcoming new album Outside (briefly). "Passing Thing” follows first single “Contact,” released in late October; watch the Riley Blakeway-directed clip below
The Thomas Dolas-produced Outside (briefly) is the sound of a band that’s truly found its voice, and in many ways feels like Froth’s proper debut. Across the ten songs, the band dialed back the noise and psych-pop found on their previous LPs to reveal delicately beautiful melodies, intricately arranged instrumentals, and some of their most experimental songwriting to date.

This evolution revealed new dynamics of Froth’s sound, resulting in a moodier and more atmospheric bend to their shoegazing melodicism and pop sensibilities, mixing the driving, tuneful drone of first single “Contact” alongside the epic squall of the intertwining guitars on “Passing Thing” and the more spare, meditative landscape of “Show A Flower A Candle And It Grows” (featuring lead vocals from drummer Cameron Allen).

Whereas previously they operated mainly as a guitar-driven band, here finds songs augmented by highlights of cello and synths (courtesy of Dolas), as well as drum machines, Rhodes, and other keys. Lyrically, Ashworth found the works of authors Richard Brautigan (the album title comes from a chapter in one of his books) and Haruki Murakami as a fitting inspiration for the dark beauty of Outside (briefly)’s music. The result is their most varied yet cohesive work to date: a refined studio effort that no longer feels like a documentation of a live band of a collection of songs, but rather a complete, full-bodied album.

Formed in Los Angeles in 2013, Froth first garnered attention with their debut LP, Patterns. Originally intended as a small-run cassette release, the album quickly became an underground sensation in the Southern California music scene, catapulting the band to local fame and prompting a vinyl re-release in 2014. The following year saw the arrival of Bleak, a more dynamic, adventurous effort that matched lush shoegaze soundscapes with driving krautrock beats, and earned the band press attention from outlets including NPR Music, Noisey, Vogue.com, and Stereogum, among others. Froth toured extensively across the U.S. and Europe in support of the album, opening for acts such as The Drums, Tamaryn, Pond and Craft Spells.

FROTH is: JooJoo Ashworth (guitar/vocals), Cameron Allen (drums), Jeremy Katz (bass), and Nick Ventura (guitar).

26/10/16: FROTH sign to Wichita and announce new album, OUTSIDE (briefly), set for release on February 10th 2017 + London live date in November

Los Angeles’ FROTH are pleased to announce they have signed to Wichita Recordings and will release their third album Outside (briefly) on February 10, 2017. The band has shared the video for first single “Contact”, watch the Riley Blakeway-directed clip here: "I feel like the video does a good job representing the inspiration of the song through a desperate space obsessed man,” says singer/guitarist JooJoo Ashworth of the video. “Riley and I work pretty easy together since we've collaborated several times before and have a lot of overlapping taste so making the video was really fun for me.”

On the Thomas Dolas-produced Outside (briefly), FROTH have dialed back the noise of their previous albums to reveal delicately beautiful melodies, intricately arranged instrumentals and some of their most experimental songwriting to date. Formed in 2013 in Los Angeles, the band first garnered attention with their debut LP, Patterns. Originally intended as a small-run cassette release, the album quickly became an underground sensation in the Southern California music scene, catapulting the band to local fame and prompting a vinyl re-release in 2014.

2015 saw the release of the band’s sophomore album, Bleak. A more dynamic, adventurous effort, the record matches lush shoegaze soundscapes with driving krautrock beats, and earned the band press attention from outlets including NPR Music, Noisey, Vogue.com, and Stereogum, among others. FROTH toured extensively across the U.S. and Europe in support of the album, opening for acts such as The Drums, Tamaryn, Pond and Craft Spells.
