Sammy Brue

Teen Americana sensation announces debut album I Am Nice on New West and shares video for "I Know"

Announces debut album I Am Nice Due out on New West Records on 16 June 2017

Teen Americana sensation Sammy Brue is set to release his debut album I Am Nice on 16th June via New West Records. The twelve-song set was produced by John Paul White of the Civil Wars and Ben Tanner of Alabama Shakes and recorded at their Sun Drop Sound studio in Florence, Alabama.  Hailed as a “prodigy” and a “wunderkind” by American Songwriter – and currently only 15-years old – Sammy is a remarkable young talent.  His keen ear for melody and sophisticated compositions embody the sort of wisdom, empathy and insight that is usually associated with more experienced songwriters and caught the attention of The New Yorker, The Wall Street Journal, The Fader, and more. He’s hitting the road in the US, appearing at a Communion showcase in New York on 4 April and touring with with Justin Townes Earl as well as Teddy Thompson and Kelly Jones (see here for full dates).
The stunning video for album opener “I Know”, was shot at Fall Creek Falls in Tennessee  "I wrote that song in my underwear at three in the morning,” Brue explains to Rolling Stone. “It was about someone chasing after their dreams and leaving a person they loved behind to do it. Only to find out that the person they left was more important than the dream. It’s probably the most personal song I've written for this album."

I Am Nice will be available digitally, on compact disc, and vinyl and can be pre-ordered below
