Young Los Angeles band The Regrettes are emerging as a hot tip, earning praise and a devoted underground following for their riotous mix of pure punk energy, rambunctious rock ‘n’ roll and wide-reaching lyrical positivity. Having recently played a tour that included The Great Escape and the Dot To Dot festivals, The Regrettes can now announce details of two warm-up shows ahead of their sets at the Reading and Leeds.
Their forthcoming UK live shows are:
21st – Norwich, OPEN, Club Room (headline show)
22nd – London, Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen (headline show)
24th – Reading Festival
25th – Leeds Festival
Tickets go on general sale on Friday June 29th.
The Regrettes’ recent track ‘Come Through’ was played by John Kennedy at Radio X. The lead track from their ‘Attention Seeker’ EP, the track’s summery and charismatic video was directed by Claire Marie Vogel and created by an all-female-led crew. The EP represented their first release since their 2017 debut album ‘Feel Your Feelings, Fool!’.
The Regrettes are fronted by 17-year-old Lydia Night (vocals, guitar) and completed by Genessa Gariano (age 21, guitar) and Sage Chavis (age 20, bass). They made an immediate impression on Los Angeles music scene with their infectious – and unapologetically honest – punk-driven pop songs. The Regrettes have also toured extensively since forming in 2015, including shows with Sleigh Bells, Peaches, Cherry Glazerr, The Frights, SWMRS and most recently, Cold War Kids.
Lydia’s not afraid to have her feelings on display. “I am not scared of anyone judging me, I don’t care. I don’t give a fuck if someone doesn’t like what I have to say. For every person that likes you, there’s a person that doesn’t like you. No matter what, if people can relate to the music then it’s worth it. That’s what is cool for me.”
