TONIGHT ALIVE is celebrating the release of the music video for their latest single “Disappear” today. The super-charged track features Lynn Gunn (PVRIS) and is the third single from their upcoming album Underworld. On the track and collaboration, singer Jenna McDougall shares “Disappear is a song about the escapist inside all of us. As you can expect from TONIGHT ALIVE, the lyrics discuss freedom, but this time with a flavour of anonymity and detachment. Disappear was written with the intention of sounding neither like Pvris or Tonight Alive, and aimed to capture the sonic imagery of a long straight highway out of your comfort zone.”
Musically, the upcoming album gives fans unique melodies and heavy hitting rock sounds. Lyrically, it is the most personal work they have ever put forth. It is full of moments that pushed the band to explore every aspect of themselves both creatively and emotionally. Due out January 12th, 2018 via Hopeless Records, Underworld is available for pre-order below
Australian 4 piece TONIGHT ALIVE today released their brand new single and video 'Crack The Heart' from upcoming album Underworld. On the track, Singer Jenna McDougall shares "The concept of cracking the heart is to allow the precious, vulnerable self to come through and be free. The painful, yet liberating experience involves the emotional and energetic decalcification of the hardened heart. The lyrics follow my conversation with a ‘winged man’, a conscious figure, who offers space and safety to do my healing with. In my experience, when you are seen as your authentic self by another, you come to recognise your reflection more accurately and lovingly. Crack My Heart is a tribute to the way that love from the divine masculine elevates and holds space for the divine feminine to flourish.”
TONIGHT ALIVE brand new studio album 'Underworld' will be released on January 12th 2018 through their new home at Hopeless Records. For the writing of the album, singer Jenna McDougallartfully awoke the feelings that she had repressed and used them as a driving force when creating her lyrics and recording this album. She dissected her darkness to get a deeper understanding of who she really is and what she truly loves and it provided her the power and confidence to push herself to remember at the core, why she loves music. McDougall shares, “The album is called Underworld and I named it that because it reflects the ugly parts of me that I wasn't ready to see until now.”
Along with this 13-song album announce, TONIGHT ALIVE has released the music video for their first single 'Temple' . Born out of a time when McDougall was experiencing
severe depression and fatigue, the lyrics for this super-charged and energetic track were penned when she was entrapped in being sick in her mind, body and soul.
This will be the band’s first album since signing to Hopeless Records earlier this year. On signing TONIGHT ALIVE, Hopeless Records’ EVP Business Development and A&R, Eric Tobin, says "We are excited to have Tonight Alive join the family! We have been fans for a long time and look forward to working with them."
The band have also announced a full US tour (with Silverstein) through Feb 2018 and a UK and European tour through March. All dates below, support on all UK dates are With Confidence and The Gospel Youth. Tickets available below
