SHARE VIDEO FOR  'LAZY'

Genre-blending Manchester collective Y.O.U.N.G have shared the video for their latest single ‘Lazy’, featuring their own ‘lazy hacks’.

The youthful five-piece kick back in the new single with chilled hip-hop beats and mellow reggae guitars alongside a bleary-eyed flow, rising into an infectious chorus – all combining to create an anthem for lazy people across the world.

The group have now followed this up by revealing a video of them struggling through their daily routine, featuring a guide of hacks for lazy people, including car-based dog walking, kettle-based pasta cookery, and the inspired pizza-in-a-toaster.

Rapper Ben James said of the track, “Our whole lives people have been calling us lazy. The track plays on the idea of what we would do every day if we were as lazy as people said. It's true everybody has lazy days, we are no exception, but overall the aim of ‘Lazy’ is to mock the idea that all we do is nothing.

“The chorus is written from the point of view of the patronising adult, whilst the rap verse gives a first-hand view of what a lazy day would consist of. Even though the song is a mockery, we can't deny that brews, candles and chilling are genuine passions of ours! Dressing gowns make an appearance in the live show, bringing the laid-back bedroom vibes to the stage and adding to the tongue in cheek nature of the tune.”

‘Lazy’ follows the release of ‘Exposure’ in late 2017, which has had over 200,000 combined views on YouTube whilst its remixes entered the Music Week Club Chart Top 10.

Rapper Ben James said of the track, “Our whole lives people have been calling us lazy. The track plays on the idea of what we would do every day if we were as lazy as people said. ‘EXPOSURE’ VIDEO REVEALED

UK HEADLINE TOUR FEBRUARY/MARCH 2018

Y.O.U.N.G have released the video for their brand new single ‘Exposure’. The video features the band performing the song throughout a number of locations, from huge colourful backdrops to dark urban settings.

The Manchester collective have also released new single remixes from the multi-awarding winning, platinum-selling producers the Wideboys and the multi-million streamed WestFunk. The new remixes follow the recent release of Yetii and Spaceship Monkey remixes, which entered the Music Week Club Chart Top 10.

The ‘Exposure’ single leads with a funky, driving guitar riff before breaking into the sharp lyrical tongue of the band’s MC, Ben James, ahead of its huge anthemic pop choruses. The resulting sound rocks as if Loyle Carner was jamming with Twenty One Pilots, or Lethal Bizzle fronted Royal Blood.

Regarding the single Ben says, “’Exposure’ is about outing those who need to be outed. Everybody encounters liars, cheats and blaggers in their life who deserve to be exposed. In essence ‘Exposure’ is a final word to anyone who deserves not to be in your life. For the video we really wanted to show ourselves in a performance light. Sure, we take love creating tracks in the studio, but performance is really where the band come alive".

The new single, which has been featured on John Kennedy’s ‘Exposure’ show on Radio X, is the follow-up to their tearaway debut ‘What I Gotta Do’.

The rap/pop rockers hail from seemingly disparate backgrounds as hip hop MCs, punk bands, soul collectives and dance producers The five-piece (Chez Davis – vocals/guitar, Ben James – rap, James Skehan – guitar/production, Tom Whitehead – bass and Graeme Smith – drums) are already turning heads with their exciting alt-pop blend of rap, pop and rock having developed a fervent fanbase across Europe from the extensive touring they completed prior to its release earlier this year.

In support of the new single Y.O.U.N.G have announced their first ever UK headline tour through Live Nation. The band will play five-dates calling at Glasgow, Birmingham, Newcastle, London and Manchester. Tickets are on sale now
